From a cosmetic perspective there are 2 types of wrinkles, dynamic and static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are the creases you see in the mirror when you are using your muscles while frowning or squinting your eyes. Static wrinkles are the creases you see in the mirror even when your not actively frowning or squinting. Fibroblast cells are permanently active skin cells found in the dermis; they can be described as fibre-producing factories. Fibroblasts manufacture Collagen and Elastin.
What is Collagen?
Fibroblast cells are permanently active skin cells found in the dermis; they can be described as fibre-producing factories. Fibroblasts manufacture Collagen and Elastin.
Collagen is formed by the fibroblasts and is composed of complex fibres made of proto-collagen protein strands that are arranged in long chains. Vitamin C is essential for the production of healthy collagen, which is important for the tone and structure of the skin. If the fibroblasts are damaged (by sunlight, stress, free radicals), they will produce defective collagen and our skin will lose its tone and structure.
What is Elastin?
Elastin is important in the elasticity of the skin and are responsible for holding the skin more tightly to the deeper tissues as well as controlling later mobility of the skin.
The destruction of collagen and elastic manifests itself as deep wrinkles and lax, leathery skin.

Wonderful first time experience with Botox, and the best results I could have hoped for!! I’m absolutely thrilled with my results and I wish I hadn’t waited so long.
I use to commute downtown Vancouver for all of my skincare and beauty needs until I discovered Skin Secrets. I’ve become a regular client and have since referred my friends/family too. It’s the best kept secret in Fort Langley!
